Tapioca Chips Description
Tapioca Chips
Tapioca Chips are sliced dried up Cassava. For better tapioca chips about 2 to 2.5 Kilograms of garden-fresh root (Starch content 25%) are compulsory for the production of 1 kilogram of Chips. Tapioca Chips produced from Starch Asia’s factory is frequently sold to pelleting industrialists who either straight export chips/pellets or sold to the buyers.
Tapioca Chips are frequently converted into pellets to spread more consistency and not to generate air effluence caused by dust conceded into chips. The great carbohydrate content of cassava chips is of value for biotechnological conversion.
Tapioca Chips are produced as follows in Thailand
- Clean the roots to free of dust and impurities,
- Cut the roots into small pieces by knife or shredder,
- Dry the tapioca pieces on a cement pad or on a bamboo mat,
- During the drying, the tapioca should be turned every 1-2 hours, using human labour or tractor. After completely dried, the tapioca chips can then be sold.
